I joined the Knights of Columbus back in 2015. My father and grandfather were both Knights and I wanted to join this amazing organization. I knew about their great works because they helped my family through some tough times while I was growing up. When my dad became disabled, the local Knights of Columbus in Forked River, NJ rallied around my family and did fundraisers to help us through the uncertain period of no income. They also provided my family with meals for an entire year. This is when I knew that I had to be a part of such an extravagant organization. My wife, Bry, and my two kids, Joey and Walcker, have also been quite involved with the Knights in helping with Bingo, helping the poor, and various church events here at St. Joseph’s in Fort Collins.
In 2017, the call for more agents was put out by our current general agent, Andy Wheaton, and I responded to it to learn more about how I can further help our brothers more broadly. That is when I learned of the insurance program. I found that not only do we help our brothers on the fraternal side, but we also protect our Catholic families with Superior insurance. As I persisted in learning how to fill the field agent’s role, I became quite good at understanding our members and providing them with sufficient protection with life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care insurance, retirement plans, and, now, investments. Although I did not aspire to be a financial advisor in my youth, I am convinced that there is no other job that I’d rather be doing. Meeting with Catholic families and being there for them during the most detrimental times of their lives is a paramount in my life. I look forward to the years ahead as I continue fulfilling Blessed Father McGivney’s vision of protecting our brothers and their families.
